Canggu: Where to Stay and What to Do

Surf beaches, rice-field views, sunset beach clubs and a café scene that is hard to beat, all a few minutes apart. Our team has been based in Canggu since 2013, and these are the places we recommend to our own guests.

Canggu at a glance

Canggu stretches along Bali’s southwest coast, where rice fields meet a string of black-sand surf beaches. Each part of the area has its own rhythm, and all of them are only a short ride apart.

Batu Bolong

The lively heart of Canggu. The beach, surf schools, cafés and shops are all close together, and the sunset crowd gathers on the sand every evening.

Echo Beach & Batu Mejan

Home to Canggu’s most powerful surf, beachfront seafood grills and La Brisa beach club, at a slightly slower pace.

Pererenan

Canggu’s calmer neighbor just up the coast, with a black-sand beach, rice fields and a growing choice of restaurants and cafés.

Berawa

A long beach to the south, home to Atlas Beach Fest and plenty of restaurants, cafés and shops.
